Avocados originated in the land that became
Mexico more than 9,000 years ago. The Hass
Avocado was discovered by the Spanish in
Mexico in 1518, where it was a dietary staple
of the Aztecs and other Central American cultures.

The perfect climate for growth

Today’s Avocados from Mexico are grown in the same fertile orchard lands of Michoacan, where the rich volcanic soil, abundant sunshine, and timely rainfall combine to produce a special avocado with an authentic rich and creamy flavor like no other.

Standards that inspire growth

In addition to APEAM’s quality mandates, Avocados from Mexico must satisfy rigorous sanitation, packinghouse, shipping, and inspection standards of the Mexican and U.S governments, including two separate USDA inspections.
